Terms & Conditions

Our Terms and Conditions are important, before proceeding with the hire, we kindly ask hirers to thoroughly review and accept our "Terms and Conditions." If there are any aspects that are unclear or if you do not understand, please do not hesitate to contact us at hello@paddockprestige.com for clarification.

Vehicle Availability

In the event the vehicle is unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, we will notify the hirer as soon as possible, and provide either an alternative vehicle of similar value or a full refund. If alternative dates are chosen, the hirer will not be entitled to any further compensation for inconvenience.

The vehicle availability depends on the client type, as outlined below:

  • Private Clients: Available for hire between 1st April and 30th September.

  • Commercial Clients (TV, Advertising, Film): Available for hire year-round, from 1st January to 31st December.

This information is subject to the booking confirmation provided within the Hire Contract.

Identification

Your driving licence must be produced each and every time you hire a vehicle from us. In addition, you must produce two further means of identification, which must include a utilities bill to you at your present address or an official letter to you at your present address, the additional means of identification must be recent (within 3 months) to ensure validity. You will also be required to leave a telephone number where you can be contacted either during the day or evening. Note: Our rental staff reserves the right to refuse your rental if you do not produce your driving licence or for any other reason.

DVLA Check Service

As part of the process for hiring one of our cars, you agree to provide us with a DVLA code so that we, and/or our insurers, can verify your driving licence details. You can obtain this code from www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence. You will need to enter your driving licence number, National Insurance number, and postcode to generate a unique identification code, which must then be sent to us. Please note that the code is only valid for 21 days.

To ensure a smooth process, we implement a two-step verification system: the first DVLA check is carried out when payment is made, and the second when the car is collected or delivered.

Driving Licence

All drivers must be in possession of a current, full valid driving licence. UK Licence holders, with the new style driving licence MUST produce both the photo card and Convictions Verification Page from the DVLA Database.

You must meet the following criteria:

  1. You are between the age of 25 and 75 years of age.

  2. Have a full UK license for a minimum of 2 years.

  3. Have not had your licence suspended for any period within the last 3 years.

  4. Have not been involved in more than one fault incident within the last 3 years.

  5. Have no more than 2 convictions with a maximum of 3 points per conviction.

  6. Have not obtained a BA,DD or UT conviction.

***Unfortunately, we do not accept foreign driving licenses***

Additional drivers

In addition to the main hirer, it is possible for two other hirers to be insured to drive the vehicle, provided they meet our insurance requirements and show us their valid UK license with no higher than 6 points. Additional drivers will be charged according to our insurance policy.

Gift Vouchers

Gift vouchers must be paid for in full at the time of purchase and are valid for 12 months from the date of issue. Vouchers are non-transferable and non-refundable once issued.

A security deposit of £1950 is required before any vehicle is released, as outlined in our terms and conditions.

By purchasing a gift voucher, you acknowledge that the designated driver must meet our insurer’s eligibility criteria.

  • Being between 25 and 75 years of age.

  • Holding a full UK driving licence for a minimum of 2 years.

  • Having no licence suspensions within the last 3 years.

  • Having no more than one fault incident in the last 3 years.

  • Holding no more than two driving convictions, with a maximum of 3 points per conviction.

  • Not having any BA, DD, or UT convictions.

Fuel

Our staff will note on the pre-rental check form and rental agreement, the reading of the fuel gauge.

You are requested to return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel as you commenced the rental. Our classic cars only accept Super unleaded - you will be charged for any damage caused by refuelling with the wrong fuel type.

The new E10 petrol must not be used in any of our cars. This will result in engine failure. Please only use super unleaded (97 or 99 Ron) or the higher octane fuel can be used in our vehicles. The use of E10 petrol or any fuel type not specified by us will result in a charge for repair or replacement of any damaged engine components, and you will be held fully responsible for any costs incurred.

A fuel receipt will be required to show super/premium unleaded was used.

If the vehicle is returned without a full tank of petrol, we will automatically debit your card with a refuelling charge. The charge will be no more than the cost to refill back to the required level.

No refund will be given for any fuel in excess of the original reading.

Booking

The hire fee covers comprehensive insurance for all approved drivers, fuel provided at the commencement of the rental, breakdown assistance with the AA, and the agreed-upon mileage limit. Any excess mileage is billed at the specified rate for the chosen vehicle, as outlined on our website, and will be charged to the card provided during booking.

Upon making a reservation, we will issue a Booking Confirmation form, typically via email. This document will contain comprehensive details of your reservation, including the date, location, and time for car collection, the duration of the rental period, specifics of the reserved vehicle, and the total cost agreed upon.

Hiring period

Your rental period starts on the specified date and lasts for the agreed duration outlined in the Rental Agreement for your chosen car that was confirmed at point of booking.

Normal hiring periods are calculated on the following:

  • Hire periods of 4 hours: collection times 9am -12pm and vehicle returned 4 hours from collection time stated on the Rental Agreement.

  • Single Day bookings – collection time 9am, vehicle returned by 6pm - unless agreed otherwise.

  • Full weekend hire – collection from 9am-10am, vehicle returned any time before 6pm the following day.

Rental times may be adjusted to suit individual hirers' requirements.

Payment & Security Deposits

The full cost of rental to be made at point of booking, plus a pre-authorisation damage deposit must be made before any vehicle is released for rental.

The pre-authorisation damage deposit will be held on the hirer's credit/debit card at the time of vehicle collection (AMEX cards are excluded). The pre-authorisation will not be charged unless damages or charges are incurred. Should your card fail, we reserve the right to refuse vehicle release until payment is secured.

This deposit serves as protection for us against any neglect or damage to our vehicles (such as a damaged wheels, cracked bumpers, or damage to the interior etc).

This deposit is a standard requirement in many hire contracts, designed to instill a sense of financial responsibility in hirers towards our cherished classic vehicles. Provided no damage is incurred following a comprehensive vehicle inspection by our workshop specialists, deposits will promptly refunded to the hirer. You do not have to contact us to release this pre-authorisation as the process is automatic. Credit/debit cards or a bank transfer are the only methods of payment we accept.

We will securely hold your card details to cover any fines, penalty notices, tolls, or other expenses accrued by you throughout the duration of the hire.

Driver Requirements and Vehicle Use

Please note that some of our vehicles have limited cabin space, which imposes certain physical restrictions. Drivers must be between 5'5" and 6'3" in height and weigh no more than 16 stone (102 kg). It is essential to ensure that all drivers meet these criteria before proceeding with the hire.

Your responsibilities

  • You must look after the vehicle and the keys to the vehicle. Lost keys will be charged at £190 per set.

  • You must always lock the vehicle when you are not using it, and use any security device fitted to or supplied with the vehicle.

  • You must always protect the vehicle against bad weather, which can cause damage.

  • If you wash the car via valet or jet wash and damage is caused this will be your responsibility and will effect the security / damage deposit that you pay.

  • You must make sure that you use the correct fuel, as you are responsible for any resultant damage.

  • You must not sell, rent or dispose of the vehicle or any of its parts.

  • You must not give anyone any legal rights over the vehicle.

  • You must not let anyone work on the vehicle without our permission. If we do give you permission, we will only give you a refund if you have a receipt for the work done.

  • You must let us know as soon as you become aware of a fault in the vehicle. Failure to do this may result in further charges due to damage caused by negligence.

  • You will bring the vehicle to the agreed drop-off point once the hire duration is over.

  • You must ensure all personal belongings are removed from the vehicle upon completion of the hire.

What to do if you have an incident

If you have an incident you must not admit responsibility until this has been clarified in the report. You should get the names and addresses of everyone involved, including witnesses. You should also:

  1. Make the vehicle secure; Please contact us as soon as you are able. Emergency contact numbers for our staff will be provided

  2. Tell the police straight away if anyone is injured or if there is a disagreement over who is responsible.

  3. You must notify us of any incident within 24 hours via our emergency contact number or email. Failure to report an incident within this timeframe may result in loss of the pre-authorisation deposit and may affect our ability to process insurance claims for the damage. If you have an incident resulting in any damage to any vehicle we will hold your pre authorisation until the insurers have resolved the issue.

If damage to our vehicle due to an incident is proved to be a 3rd party at fault and all other matters have been cleared with the insurers your pre-auth will be refunded after our external costs have been calculated and insurance excess paid.

Hirers accept full liability for cosmetic and mechanical damaged caused by negligence such as engine failure caused by overheating or by clutch failure due to misuse and abuse of the vehicle.

If you have an incident or a suspected problem with the vehicle, call us immediately - failure to do so will result in the loss of the pre authorisation and potentially further costs.

Conditions for using the vehicle

Only you or a named driver on the insurance application may drive the vehicle providing a full valid driving licence is held and a cover note has been issued to you.

You or your authorised named driver must not:

  • Use the vehicle for hire or reward. Unless this extension has been applied to your certificate of insurance;

  • Use the vehicle for any illegal purpose;

  • Use the vehicle for racing, pace making, competitions, rallies, track days, trials or speed tests whether on the road, track, off road, land prepared for such use or the Nurburgring Nordschleife and whether the event is organised or informally arranged;

  • Use the vehicle whilst under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs;

  • Drive the vehicle outside England, Scotland and Wales, unless we have given you written permission;

  • Load the vehicle beyond the manufacturer's maximum weight recommendations and make sure that the load is secured safely; and If the vehicle is a commercial vehicle, use it for a purpose for which you need an operator's licence if you do not have one.

Smoking and Pets Policy

Smoking and the transportation of pets are strictly prohibited in all of our vehicles. If any evidence of smoking or pets is found, a fee of up to £100 can be charged for a full deep cleaning of the vehicle.

Trackers

For insurance and security reasons, our vehicles are equipped with trackers.

While we do not monitor your journey, the trackers record driver behaviours such as speeding or late braking. This data may be utilized in the event of incidents requiring evidence.

Alerts are configured to notify us of any irresponsible driving detected by the trackers.

We reserve the right to terminate the hire without refund and request your return to our base if driving continues in a manner jeopardising your safety and the integrity of our vehicles.

Towing

You or your authorised named driver must not use the vehicle for towing unless we have given you written permission.

Returning rental vehicles

Before you bring back the vehicle you must check that you have not left any personal belongings in the vehicle. We are not liable for loss or damage to your own property.

Vehicles must always be returned back to us during opening hours.

We will not accept responsibility for vehicles damaged or stolen from outside our premises if dropped-off after hours. If we have agreed that you may return the vehicle outside business hours, you will remain responsible for the vehicle and its condition until it is re-inspected by a member of our staff.

Failure to return the vehicle on time breaks the terms of the agreement. A fee of £50 per hour will be charged for exceeding the agreed hire period, with charges continuing for each subsequent hour.

You will have to pay for reasonable costs of repair if:

  • The car is returned with inadequate cleanliness, both inside and outside, a standard £75 valeting fee will be applied, debited directly from your card.

  • For damages that do not require an insurance claim, the pre-authorisation amount will cover repair costs. Any additional charges will be billed accordingly. You are responsible for any fines accrued during your rental, along with associated court fees and administrative costs, including but not limited to parking tickets, speeding fines, and congestion charges.

Overseas travel

Unfortunately, are cars are not available for overseas travel.

Our responsibilities

We have maintained the vehicle to at least the manufacturer's recommended standard. We assure you that the vehicle is roadworthy and suitable for renting at the start of the rental period.

In addition, if you are not renting the vehicle for business purposes, we are responsible for loss caused by:

  • The vehicle not matching our description of it;

  • The vehicle not being fit to drive; or not having the legal right to rent out the vehicle.

We are responsible if someone is injured or dies because of our negligent act, or failure to act. We are also responsible for losses you suffer because of us breaking this agreement. Losses are foreseeable where you and we could contemplate them at the time the vehicle is rented.

We are not responsible for indirect losses which happen as a side effect of the main loss or damage and which are not foreseeable by you and us (such as loss of profits or loss of opportunity).

If a vehicle breaks down we will endeavour to get you back on the road within good time. We are not obliged to offer refunds in the event of breakdown if the car is fixed in good time of you notifying us of a terminal break down.

Weather

Given the unpredictable nature of British weather, we aim to ensure your experience is memorable for all the right reasons. Should adverse weather conditions pose a risk to your safety or the vehicle's integrity, we reserve the right to contact you. In such cases, we will discuss alternative arrangements, including rescheduling your booking or providing a full refund. It's important to note that cancellations or rescheduling due to inclement weather, rather than adverse conditions, may not be possible.

Property

We are not responsible for loss or damage to property left in the vehicle whilst in the care of the hirer.

Charges

We work out charges using our current price list.

You will pay the following charges:

  • The rental and any other charges we work out according to the agreement;

  • Any charge for loss or damage due to you not keeping to your responsibilities;

  • A refuelling service charge if you have used and not replaced, the quantity of fuel that we supplied at the start of the original rental. The charge will be based on the rates printed on this rental agreement;

  • Any vehicle excess (up to £1950)

  • The mileage limit is set at 100 miles per day, with any additional miles incurring a charge of £3.00 per mile.

  • All fines and court costs for parking, traffic, or other offences (including any costs which arise if the vehicle is clamped). You must pay the appropriate authority any fines and costs if and when the authority demands this payment. If you do not, you will be responsible to pay our reasonable administration charges, which arise when we deal with these matters on your behalf;

  • A loss-of-income charge, if we cannot rent out the vehicle because it needs to be repaired or it is a write-off (can't be repaired);

  • Any published rates for delivering and collecting the vehicle;

  • Interest which we will add every day to any amount you do not pay us on time, at the rate of 4% a year above the base lending rate of Barclays Bank PLC; and

  • Value Added Tax and all other taxes on any of the charges listed above, as appropriate.

You are responsible for all charges, even if you have asked someone else to be responsible for them.

Paddock Prestige will not provide refunds or be obligated to offer a substitute vehicle in the event of an accident, delayed vehicle collection, early vehicle return, adverse weather conditions, or acts of nature.

Your pre-authorisation total will be retained in case of an incident. This will be used to cover any costs incurred by Paddock Prestige inclusive of the insurance excess.

Cancellation

Refunds should be processed via the same payment method used by the hirer (unless the customer requests otherwise).

  • Full refund if the cancellation is more than 28 days prior to the hire date.

  • 50% refund if cancellation occurs within 28–15 days.

  • No refund within 14 days

Ending the agreement

If you are an individual, we will end this agreement straight away if we find out your belongings have been taken away from you to pay off your debts, or a receiving order has been made against you.

We may end this agreement if you do not meet the main requirements of this agreement. If you are a company, we will end this agreement straight away if:

  • You go into liquidation;

  • You call a meeting of creditors;

  • We find out that your goods have been taken away from you until you pay off your debts; or You do not meet any of the conditions of this agreement.

If we end this agreement it will not affect our right to receive any money we are owed under the conditions of this agreement.

We can also claim reasonable costs from you if you do not meet the main requirements of this agreement.

We can repossess the vehicle (and charge you a reasonable amount) without using unreasonable force or causing damage.

Data Protection

You agree that we may use any information you have given us to carry out our own market research. If you break the agreement we can give this information to credit reference agencies, the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), debt collectors and any other relevant organisation.

We will handle all personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the GDPR. Personal information may be used for marketing purposes, but we will never sell or share your details with third parties without your explicit consent.

Governing law

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. The parties agree that any disputes arising from this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Severance

If any provision of this Agreement is held invalid, illegal or unenforceable for any reason by any Court of competent jurisdiction such provision shall be severed and the remainder of the provisions hereof shall continue in full force and effect as if this Agreement had been agreed with the invalid, illegal or unenforceable provision eliminated.

Please note that cover is subject to the expiry date on the cover note. If the date and time is overlapped with the return of the vehicle, contact must be made with the hire company to extend cover to ensure continuation of insurance cover. The Insurance cover is invalid if hire has been paid for in cash.
